DADI FREYR: im doing a tour I SOLD OUT

+ Toucan

In autumn, the Icelandic Eurovision phenomenon Daði Freyr, who has won over the hearts of listeners all over the world, is coming to Šiška for the only performance in the region! At the concert, he will present his new album, the first that is entirely in English.

Berlin-based Icelandic musician Daði Freyr has been involved in music since he was a child, but it took him a while to become world famous – until 2020, to be precise, when he was selected to represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest with the bouncy retro hit “Think About Things”. The bookmakers predicted a smooth victory for the Icelandic dude in the popular competition, but then the coronavirus forced the cancellation of Eurovision that year. It wasn’t all for naught, though, as “Think About Things” started making the rounds online, thanks in part to Daði’s endearingly awkward dance moves, and garnered endorsements from stars like Russell Crowe and Jennifer Garner. In the end, the ubiquitous song even landed among the Top 10 songs of the year by Time magazine.

Daði Freyr cashed in on the viral success. A year later, he returned to Eurovision with “10 Years” and took a high fourth place, and since then his reputation has only grown – as have the millions of online streams and views. This summer sees the release of his mischievously titled I Made An Album, his first all-English release, blending disco-inspired pop with signature self-reflection and a positive outlook on the world. As he says, “Love who you are, unless you’re a horrible person – then change!”

After a world tour that sold out in record time, Daði Freyr will also head back to the stage. As part of an extensive European tour, he’ll also stop at Šiška for an exclusive regional performance in September. Due to the exceptional demand, we advise against delaying purchasing your ticket.

Pop, funk, and soul artist Conor Clancy will warm us up with his band project Toucan. They saw instant success with the debut single “We Fell For Miles” in 2018, followed by a debut EP that catapulted them to performances at major festivals, sold-out shows, and guest appearances with artists like Nile Rodgers & Chic and James Blunt. The band’s irresistible guitar licks, dazzling brass hooks, tightly knit rhythm section and silky-smooth vocals have earned them comparisons to George Ezra, Rag’n’Bone Man, and Stevie Wonder.

Tickets on sale online and at Eventim outlets.
