BOWRAIN: 2020 SECONDS(A)LIVE

+ Drago Ivanuša

Acclaimed Slovenian musician Bowrain, who has wowed Šiška several times already, including during the MENT Ljubljana festival and the Piano Day celebration, is presenting a new music project titled 2020 Seconds(A)live. The project began in autumn 2018, and the character and content of the music have been heavily influenced by Bowrain’s international cooperation with South African collective The Brother Moves On. At Kino Šiška, the author will perform with a large ensemble of Slovenian musicians.

Tine Grgurevič – Bowrain is a contemporary composer, pianist and music producer, whose original work has established him on the international scene within the increasingly popular contemporary piano music field. He has performed all over the world, from the USA to South Africa, and at festivals such as Eurosonic Noorderslag, Tallinn Music Week and Ljubljana Jazz Festival. After releasing his third studio album in autumn 2017, he began a fruitful collaboration with South African collective The Brother Moves On, which he met during the Druga Godba festival.

The evening will be introduced by musician Drago Ivanuša, who will present a performance titled 10 Minutes of Happiness. Happiness was never important. The problem is that we don’t know what we really want. What makes us happy is not to get what we want. But to dream about it. Happiness is for opportunists. So I think that the only life of deep satisfaction is a life of eternal struggle, especially struggle with oneself. If you want to remain happy, just remain stupid. Authentic masters are never happy; happiness is a category of slaves.” (Slavoj Žižek)
