Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik: What Remains

What Remains is a performance that materializes in a poetics of situations created by the artists through movement, sound, light, and poetry. They thus create parallel spaces that form harmonies resonating (into) potential narrations.

Critic and theatrologist Pia Brezavšček wrote about the premiere performance:

The human figure uses dance to speak of a mysterious remnant which is stored in an ineffable way – in a gesture, in a manner, a relation, produced time and again by our unique transient body so that we are it. In this work, the choreographer not only leaves us to the bodies, but helps them to become poetry by juxtaposing them with the lyric words of Lidija Dimkovska – with some of the poems (with occasional performative interventions) also set to live piano music and sampling by the British composer Christopher Benstead, who regularly works with the author. When put on the stage, the poetry is offered a space where it can be experienced in a different, extended way – resonating and intensifying in the dancers’ bodies and walloping against that which is alive in us”
