Alien Express: SECOND FLIGHT

dance performance

Following their exceptional debut Alien Express, with which Žigan Krajnčan and Gašper Kunšek travelled around the world, the acclaimed Slovenian dancers are coming back to Kino Šiška with a new episode of Alien Express: Second Flight.

Žigan Krajnčan and Gašper Kunšek “came onto the scene as an outside force and gained it a new audience, as well as a different dancing practice”, wrote Pia Brezavšček. Urban dance styles, the interlinking of various motion practices and a carefree attitude blended in their debut Alien Express, premiered at the Dance Theatre Ljubljana in 2016. The duet won them the Ksenija Hribar Award for Most Promising Dancers, and they were also invited into the Aerowaves network. Together with director Jan Krmelj they were also the beneficiaries of the Culture Euro fund, presenting Chorus together with musician Kristijan Krajnčan, light designer Borut Bučinel and an international ensemble of dancers at Kino Šiška. The performance was named the best performance of the 9th Gibanica festival by public choice.

They are now returning to Kino Šiška with a new episode of Alien Express. Second Flight will be enhanced by the musical accompaniment of DJ SunnySun and jazzer Kristijan Krajnčan, as well as the guerrilla lighting intervention of Borut Bučinel. It will battle an invisible force that can be felt at every step. An unknown creature with a tangible spirit and intangible presence has infiltrated both the artists on stage and the backstage. You’ll see how to face it, what to do, what it even wants and where it’s come from.
