With her singular voice, enigmatic stage presence and songs that seem to hover somewhere between intimacy and theatrical spell, Aldous Harding comes to Ljubljana for an evening of haunting beauty and quiet intensity.
FOR FANS OF: Cat Power, Kate Bush, Kevin Morby …
Born in New Zealand, Aldous Harding has built a career defined by restraint, emotional precision and a refusal to conform to easy narratives. Her music is often described as folk, but that label barely scratches the surface: her songs weave together elements of chamber pop, indie rock and art song, shaped by subtle arrangements and an instinctive sense of drama. Acoustic guitars, piano, restrained percussion and carefully placed harmonies create a sparse but charged atmosphere, leaving ample space for her distinctive voice to lead. That voice, capable of sounding fragile, deadpan or quietly commanding within the same song, has become one of her most recognisable signatures.
Lyrically, Harding’s work explores vulnerability, desire, power dynamics and self-protection, often circling themes of intimacy and distance. Moments of dry humour and irony puncture the seriousness, adding another layer to her carefully crafted musical world.
Currently signed to the reputable label 4AD, Harding has released four acclaimed albums so far, including 2019’s Designer, which topped a number of best-of lists that year. She has toured extensively across the globe, sharing stages with artists such as PJ Harvey and performing at major festivals including Glastonbury, Primavera Sound and Pitchfork Music Festival.
Known for performances that feel both deeply personal and strangely otherworldly, Harding promises a concert that draws listeners inward rather than overwhelming them. For her Ljubljana debut, audiences can expect a career-spanning set from one of the most fascinating musicians of our time, delivered with clarity, restraint and a hypnotic presence.
