The DobraVaga Gallery is again announcing the Open Studio programme, aimed at artists who do not have access to spaces dedicated exclusively to their creative work. We are therefore inviting artists without their own studio to work in our gallery for an agreed period of three months.

We are inviting Slovenia-based artists who are at the beginning of their professional artistic career and work in the field of visual art or new media, or experiment with new and/or classic media, techniques or artistic expressions, to apply.

The selected residents will be able to work in the free DobraVaga studio for a period of three months during the gallery’s opening hours, and will also receive a one-time fee. At the conclusion of the residency, they will present their work at the gallery in a format of their choice.

With this year’s open call, we are accepting applications for four (4) three-month residencies:

– 15 January–31 March 2027

– 1 April–30 June 2027

– 1 July–30 September 2027

– 1 October–31 December 2027

The application should include:

– name and surname

– contact (e-mail and phone, residential address in Slovenia)

– CV and/or artist statement (half an A4 page, describing the artist’s work, techniques, and fields of interest)

– current artistic production: photographs and concepts of 3–5 art pieces, or a portfolio (video works should be submitted via active links to YouTube, Vimeo or other video content websites)

– two preferred residency periods

We reserve the right to change the dates and number of residencies.

Candidates who submit their application by and including 15 October 2026 will presumably be notified of the selection towards the start of November 2026.
