What do you get when the superwoman Horny Lesbo meets the depressed cat Zorka, when menacing crows threaten the rubber duck, when the vagrant Mita Harvester falls under the spell of Momirka telling war-time Partisan stories, and the superhero Lavandaman is having nightmares? You get the travelling comic exhibition comiXconnection! Like the names for the comic strip, its manifestations also differ between Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Hungary and Serbia. The story of its origin reflects directly the political history of each respective country and the openness of their societies towards this form of art and communication. This is also why the relation between mainstream and alternative comic strip production differs between countries. The exhibition comiXconnection presents independent comic strips of the five countries, placing particular emphasis on the differences and possible connections between them.
