For the first time ever, cult band Unsane will rumble in Ljubljana! By introducing hardcore and metal elements in the 1990’s, the New York trio changed the sound of noise rock forever. On our stage, they’ll present their latest album, Sterilize, released in September via acclaimed label Southern Lord. Ahead of Unsane, we’ll be hit by It’s Everyone Else and their cathartic electronic noisecore.
With a more aggressive, primal approach, Unsane infused the thunder of groups such as Einstürzende Neubauten, Swans and Sonic Youth with direct hardcore simplicity, defining the sound of the legendary Amphetamine Reptile Records alongside The Jesus Lizard, Helmet, Melvins, Today Is The Day, Tad and others in the process. Albums such as Unsane, Scattered, Smothered & Covered and Occupational Hazard are still regarded as classics of underground noise, with the band last expanding their discography with Wreck in 2012, proving critics and fans alike that they’re still in excellent shape.
After five years, it’s time for a wild return and a new, eighth, studio release. Sterilize hits in September, overflowing with devastating riffs and inexorability. With ten new songs, the trio will put Šiška’s foundation to the test for the first time a couple of months later, ensuring a sonic strike that will ring in your ears for quite some time.
Slovenian couple It’s Everyone Else weld synth glitches, screams and samples into an unholy racket, packed with unbridled energy and moments of tender catharsis amidst the raging. They’ve already performed ahead of another legendary 1990s band, Atari Teenage Riot, in Šiška, and November will mark one year since the release of their exceptional third album Heaven is an empty room. In concert, the duo like to take the crowd straight on, with the unique live experience at Waves Vienna immediately convincing the head of Austrian label Noise Appeal to sign them. As they live abroad, any chance to face them live in Slovenia is not to be missed.
Organisation: Kino Šiška.
