Ghostface Killah, one of the greatest MCs of all time, a founding member of the famed Wu-Tang Clan, and a living legend, is coming to teach us a lesson in unparalleled rap mastery. The time is 25th September, the place is Kino Šiška – be there!
Widely regarded as not just one of the best MCs of all time, but also as “rap’s finest storyteller” (Q), Ghostface Killah first rose to prominence alongside RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, Method Man, U-God and Masta Killa, when, collaborating as the Wu-Tang Clan, they changed rap history forever with the release of the seminal Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).
But it didn’t take long for Ghostface Killah to prove himself on his own merits as well, with his masterful solo debut Ironman and its follow-up Supreme Clientele not just regarded as genre classics, but widely acknowledged as possibly the best solo releases by a Wu-Tang Clan member ever. During that time, he also collaborated with Raekwon on another hip-hop milestone, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…, not to mention numerous guest appearances and features.
In addition to his work with the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah has remained an active and prolific solo artist well into the 21st century, most recently proving his musical vitality and breadth with a collaborative album with accomplished jazz group BADBADNOTGOOD, as well as his 12th studio album Twelve Reasons to Die II – both released in 2015 and both praised by critics and fans alike.
It’s therefore an honour and a privilege to be able to announce that one of rap’s greatest, the legendary Ghostface Killah himself, will perform in Slovenia at Kino Šiška on 25th September. He’ll be joined by a special guest – but let’s keep him a secret.
Warming up the crowd will be Wu-Tang Clan acolyte and Wu Wear ambassador Joe Young, who was mentored by Cappadonna and Inspectah Deck themselves. On his 2017 second album, Invincible Armour, he teamed up with legendary producer Dame Grease (Nas, DMX, Tricky, Fat Joe, Eve, Kelis, LL Cool J, Das Racist, Raekwon …), guest verses were provided by the Wu-Tang elite, and the record even drew the attention of “the most hated man in America”, Martin Shkreli, who wanted to put in an offer to purchase – but Joe and Dame Grease said no.
Mark your calendars – this one’s going to be one to remember!
