A night of zines + workshop

This Halloween we invite you to a workshop of joint creation of a gloomy zine of terror, with appropriate background music by the LEALUDVIK duo. Emphasis will be placed on the elegance of fear, witches, black gloves, knives, puddles of blood, occultism, vampires and sex, without which there is no horror.

At the workshop we will create a zine, with each of the participants contributing their own page or spread. Together, we will consider, discuss and assign topics for each individual, in order to cover the widest possible spectrum of horror. The techniques used will include collage, illustrations, photography, comics, combined with text, short stories, etc. Materials will be available at the workshop, but you can bring anything else you would like to use. The final product will be a printed zine called HALLOWZEEN vol. 1, which we will photocopy for all workshop participants.

P.S. – For the after party, LEALUDVIK recommend the 9th Halloween Horror Marathon in Kinodvor.

LEALUDVIK are Lea Jelenko and Matjaž Komel. With their project LEALUDVIK, they explore their intimate relationship between fiction and reality through the use of photography, video, illustration and DIY publications. The foundation of their art stems from the exploration of fetishism, BDSM practices and slasher and giallo films. With the decomposition of gender roles, they present their world from both a female and male perspective. As LEALUDVIK, they have participated in the following exhibitions: Kino Šiška, 5th Independent Biennial  (2015), Sonica Festival – Museum of Transitory Art, Lealudvik: Safe Haven (2015), P74, Zine Zine (2016), International Centre for Graphic Arts, Independent Biennial vs. Zelenko (2016) and the following events: BYOB Ljubljana in MoTA Point (2014), evening projections as part of the Photonic Moments festival in the Photon Gallery (2014), Caffeine Hours (2014–2016), Zine Fest Berlin (2014) and Zine Store Day in Vienna (2014).
