MIHA KRALJ – ANDROMEDA 2.16

It is Miha Kralj, the pioneer of electronic music in Slovenia and Yugoslavia, we have to thank for such reminiscing. FB event>

The former member of Dekameroni (1969-1972 – he composed Sava šumi) and Prah (1975-1980) began his solo career in 1980. Kralj had already been crafting a completely new and fresh sound, previously unheard in the former Yugoslavia, on his synthesisers since 1975. In 1980, he released his first electronic album, Andromeda, at Belgrade record label PGP RTB. The album became an immediate hit, selling 21,000 copies just in Yugoslavia and over 100,000 across all of Europe. In the next five years, Kralj released two more albums, Odyssey (1982) and Electric Dreams (1985), wrote music for other Slovenian musicians, composed stage music and provided soundtracks for over 110 short films.

Over the past year, his work has been recorded by a RTV Slovenija camera crew, directed by Dušan Moravec, who is shooting a documentary about him. On the Katedrala stage in Kino Šiška, Miha Kralj and guests will present music from Andromeda, stage music and more recent projects Interstellar, Ambient, Psybient and Elektronic. The concert will also be accompanied by a visual performance with lasers, rounding off only the second ever show by Miha Kralj!
