The Stroj Collective Percussion Workshops
In January, Kino Šiška will again host the Stroj Collective Percussion Workshops.
Location: Komuna
Price:
Percussion workshops will be held each Monday at 4 pm in Kino Šiška. The programme will last three months, the introductory meeting taking place on 18th January at 4 pm.
The workshop programme will be adapted to the knowledge of particular participant, therefore any percussion skills are not required for applying. Applications will be accepted until Friday 15 January at the e-mail address hangarpress2@gmail.com
The workshop will be conducted by Primož Oberžan, the founder and leader of The Stroj collective, instrument maker and percussionist with a long-standing career in music.
New and former participants will be able to learn about and deepen their knowledge on making instruments from waste and other materials as well as join their creative potential in a striking collective music approach. The three-month workshop programme shall comprise percussion basics as well as field recordings of unusual sounds, working with sound matrices and stage performance basics. The detailed workplan will be composed after the initial meeting with participants, and will, if desired, comprise their other music-related skills (vocals, traditional instruments, dance...).
By organizing the workshop, The Stroj collective wish to transfer their rich experience in music to younger generations and encourage their music creativity, in which listening, performing, imagination, dexterity and collectivism take equal parts.
