Jon Spencer began by decomposing the history of rock with the punk-trash and garage rock sensibility of Pussy Galore, only to return ruthlessly to the blues origins with Blues Explosion and refine them into a lasting contemporary expression of popular music. In his music journeys he brought to life several more or less distinguished names from the history of blues and soul, such as R.L. Burnside, Rufus Thomas, Andre Williams and others. He has thus left an enduring stamp in the modern creation of blues-rock, recently also in the shape of the lively rock 'n' roll project Heavy Trash. Matt Verta-Ray began to love blues and rockabilly early on, as influenced by his parents. He later incorporated rockabilly cunningly in the expression of the marvellous Speedball Baby, and, supported by Spencer, upgraded it in the Heavy Trash project. The FV festival will thus be enhanced with the real contemporary rock 'n' roll showing proper respect to the rich rock 'n' roll history. More

But there is more. Apart from Heavy Trash the line-up includes the incredible Croatian surf rock band The Bambi Molesters. Surely their juicy lively instrumental surf rock requires no introduction as they have been exciting us for a number of years. The fact that they have recorded a new album, which will be released in November, makes their appearance all the more interesting. More.

To spice up the festival some more, Nero Burns will be there, mixing the sound of punkabilly of the 50's, garage punk of the 60's and punk rock of the 70's, adding the compulsory distortion, while the programmed drums/sound provide the noir swampbilly with the completely necessary edge of retro-futurism.
