The promoter of the MotörCity festival, which will take place this year from 16th to 19th August in Tolmin, is also throwing the MotörCity 2018 Official Warm-Up Party featuring Richie Kotzen, one of the most interesting and versatile guitarists! The guitar virtuoso, author and vocalist with a unique and recognisable style has released over 20 solo albums so far, full of rock, blues and jazz, with elements of soul and pop.
With his guitar-playing technique, Richie Kotzen first drew attention to himself as a teen. After a few albums, he was invited to work with glam metal band Poison. Kotzen’s influence is more than evident on their highly successful album Native Tongue – especially his blues-based guitar licks. Kotzen didn’t stay long with Poison – he continued his solo career, later joining the band Mr. Big. After their dissolution, he carried on as himself. In 2013, he formed the supergroup The Winery Dogs with Mike Portnoy and Billy Sheenan, nurturing his solo career throughout.
Richie Kotzen built an enviable, varied career as a guitarist, vocalist and author. He toured the U.S., Europe, South America and Japan. In 2006, he opened for The Rolling Stones, his name is borne by two Fender guitar models, and he’s played, collaborated and recorded with a bunch of different musicians.
Free entry for holders of MotörCity 2018 festival passes even in the case of a sold-out show.
