In July, the DobraVaga gallery will feature artist Nastja Mezek, who is concluding her Master’s studies in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. Her latest work in mixed media is characterised by overlapping images that trigger an inability to concentrate in the viewer – just like the images that we consume daily via digital media, so quickly that they blend into a single one.
Nastja Mezek (1991) is finishing her Master’s degree in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design of Ljubljana. She graduated in 2013 under prof. Žiga Kariž. She mainly focuses on the themes of the home and the Internet as intimate/personal spaces, employing digital and technological approaches. She’s not quite sure whether to draw or make serious grown-up art. From 2014 to 2015, she participated in the international group exhibition Transform at the biennial of Eastern European academies in Bucharest, at the Fotopub festival in Novo mesto, and at the Independent Biennial.
