LAIBACH

Also Sprach Zarathustra

Following their victorious conquest of North Korea, documented in the renowned film Liberation Day, cult Slovenian band Laibach returned with their 20th studio release, the first since 2014’s Spectre. In Šiška, the globally acclaimed Also Sprach Zarathustra will be played live in Slovenia for the first time on two evenings, with the performance accompanied by other songs from Laibach’s plentiful repertoire.

Slovenian institution Laibach, which has been ceaselessly grinding its way through the music world for nearly four decades now, needs no special introduction. Their latest masterpiece Also Sprach Zarathustra was originally written for Thus Spoke Zarathustra, a theatre performance based on famed philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche‘s most significant work. The Quietus describes the album as spectacular and sublime, perhaps even the band’s magnum opus. Other media spare no praise, either – PopMatters would use the new compositions for the next David Fincher movie, Mojo labelled the album as “100 % Laibach”, while Wiener Zeitung wrote simply “Laibach are great,” to name just a few.

The album’s live Slovenian debut, including older hits, will take place at the end of the year at Kino Šiška. Those who managed to get tickets for the sold out show in Križanke at the release of Laibach’s previous album, Spectre, already know that this is an event that isn’t to be missed. Those who didn’t, know now. Zarathustra speaks in December!

Organisation: Kino Šiška.
