In February, the Artist per Month exhibition space will feature visual artist Gašper Kunšič. The Moment of Uncertainty exhibition touches on contemporary moments of distress, doubt and insecurity, originating in both global events and the existential questions of the Millennial Generation. In the prints and paintings, pop culture colours blend with expressive texts documenting these moments.
Gašper Kunšič (1992) is a visual artist who works in the fields of painting, installations and digital graphics. He graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (ALUO) in Ljubljana, and he’s currently continuing his studies with a course in Transmedia Art at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna. He was nominated for the ESSL ART AWARD CEE in 2015 and organized an exhibition in the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in Ljubljana¸ as well as at the third Triennial of Young Artists in the Gallery of Contemporary Art in Celje. His performances have been showcased by the Vienna Künstlerhaus. He has participated in group exhibitions at the Jakopič Pavilion and the P74 Gallery in Ljubljana, the Athens Digital Art Festival in Greece, The Essence 2016, in Alte Post and in the Krinzinger Projekte in Vienna. Together with Živa Drvarič, he put on an exhibition titled LIFE GOES ON LIFE GOES OFF at the Maribor Art Gallery. He is the recipient of the thesis award from ALUO (2016) and the winner of the Mladika magazine poetry award in Trieste (2013). He is also a recipient of the Ministry of Culture scholarship for studying abroad. He lives and works in Vienna.
