BRGS – THE AUDIBLE LIFE STREAM TENTET

a composition for music, movement and tranquillity in three acts

Jaka Berger – Brgs, one of the most creative Slovenian percussionists, improvisers and composers, presents his most ambitious project, which marks the tenth anniversary of his debut Brgstime.

The Audible Life Stream Tentet is the realization of his experience, and its implementation is a major challenge both for the cast and for the listeners. This is Berger’s first original project with a larger ensemble.

Berger draws inspiration for this project from the idea of journeying souls by philosopher Alan Watts. In his work, Watts describes the path that a soul “lives” from the need for knowledge and experience. It is a circle that Berger is attempting to transform on a sonic level and the experiences of the musician, the space and the listener.

The project will feature notable Slovenian artists working in the field of contemporary improvisational music. All authors are part of an actively developing core of younger musicians who actively explore and apply innovative approaches to collective improvisation.

Line-up: Vid Drašler, Jošt Drašler, Boris Janje, Domen Gnezda, Vitja Balžalorsky, Andrej Fon, Jure Boršič, Ana Kravanja and Samo Kutin.

Makis Ananiadis is in charge of the technical implementation of the project.

Organisation: Kino Šiška.
